Top Sporting School

Sevenoaks has been recognised among the top 11 schools of the year by School Sports Magazine, reflecting the strength and breadth of our sporting programme. Congratulations to our Sports department and to every student whose dedication, teamwork and competitive spirit contributed to an exceptional 2025.

Selection for the top 200 schools typically requires strong performances in multiple national-level competitions. Last year, Sevenoaks excelled across a remarkable range of disciplines.

With 22 representative sports and an inclusive and inspirational ethos, Sevenoaks provides opportunities for every student to thrive, encouraging a lifelong interest and the development of character through sport.

These are a few highlights from 2025:

  • U18 boys LISBA basketball champions for the third consecutive year
  • U13 girls T20 cricket champions
  • Inter girls ESAA Cross Country national finalists
  • U16 girls joint third at the national indoor hockey finals
  • Top school at the RS Feva Nationals and multiple podium finishes throughout the year
  • Shooting team were BSSRA Spring Leagues Section 1 Division 8 winners
  • KS3 girls National Plate Squash Champions, KS4 girls place second and KS5 girls third in national finals
  • Inter boys ESSA swimming medley relay final, boys’ and girls’ teams reached the Bath and Otter Cup relay finals
  • U13 boys place second at schools’ nationals table tennis competition
  • National Girls Schools Doubles tennis champions for the third year running
  • U15 girls sixth nationally in Volleyball England Tier 1 competition
Across the 2024–25 academic year, more than 200 teams represented Sevenoaks in 1300 fixtures, reflecting the extraordinary commitment of our staff and students.
