School Partnerships Alliance

Sevenoaks School is proud to be a founding member of the School Partnerships Alliance (SPA). The SPA’s objective is to be a force for school improvement and the strongest pupil outcomes, informed by research and driven by impact.

The SPA was established in 2021 and it aims to promote partnership working and raise its profile. It shares best practice ensuring that there is effective impact assessment of partnership work to show that it is mutually beneficial. Through our involvement with the SPA, we are able to work with, and learn from, other educational establishments to improve outcomes for all young people in our community.

The SPA aims to:

  • Raise the profile of great partnership work and move it away from the current dominant dialogue regarding politics and charitable status
  • Develop impact assessment
  • Develop a kitemark to reflect quality partnership work

Sevenoaks School was delighted to host the SPA’s inaugural conference on Thursday 9 November, welcoming schools and industry bodies, including the Independent Schools Council, from across the country.

Speakers included Dame Alison Peacock, CEO Chartered College of Teaching, and one of own former KAN students and current KAN mentor, Immer French-Moore, who spoke passionately about the positive impact that partnerships, both in the primary and secondary phase, have had on her personally.

The School Partnerships Alliance champions meaningful, equitable partnerships between schools across the state and independent sectors. A range of both panel and round table discussions enabled different perspectives to be shared, alongside examples of best practice.

Particularly hot topics included measuring impact, ensuring partnership work aligns tightly with partner schools’ priorities and how we reach those teachers and partners who will most benefit from partnership work.
