We have had a wonderful year of sport. Thanks to everyone for their contribution; the staff and students have been amazing throughout. There have been many individual and team successes, and opportunities for all.

Cricket
We finished runners-up at the U18 Kent cup and are very proud of the team for reaching the final.
The U15 boys cricket team finished third at the South of England Regionals after beating KCS Wimbledon in the third-fourth place playoff. They lost to Forest School, who were eventual champions. This is the furthest our cricketers have gone in a national competition in quite a while and puts us in the top 16 sides in the country at U15 age level. In the third-fourth match, Ben Dawkins scored a brilliant 102 not out to cap a brilliant week after scoring a hundred in the quarter-final. They have been an absolute credit to the school and should be rightly proud.
Eventing
Lara Bailey (SE B90 team) and Abi Scott (SE B100 team) have been selected for the South-East at the British Eventing regional youth championships.
Football
Bethan Thomas has been offered a place in the RTC at Charlton FC.
Rugby
Charlie Peters has been offered a place within the Centre of Excellence at Harlequins RFC. This is one level below being offered a professional contract and means she will train with Senior Harlequins and England rugby players over the winter.
Sailing
Luana and Martin won the Itchenor Schools week. This is a fleet racing event featuring 72 boats from 16 schools.
At the BSDRA nationals, our U19s finished third overall and were the second placed school.
Squash
At the Park Langley Open, Dehong Kong won his first club competition and Arnav George came third – very well done to both.
Swimming
At the ESSA Individual Championships, our pupils earned the following results:
- Tom Ellershaw 11/12 age group: 50 BK 1st, 100 BK 3rd coming back from a knee injury
- Salma Zidan 11/12 age group: 50 BR 5th, 100 BR 6th, 50 Fly 20th, 50 FC 25th
- Laura Jobke 11/12 age group: 50 BR 27th, 50 BK 34th
- Maddie Evans 13/14 age group: 50 BK 1st, 50FC 2nd, 100 BK 3rd, 50 Fly 4th, 100 Fly 4th, 200 BK 7th and 100 FC 11th
- Charlotte Bloodworth 13/14 age group: 200 BK 12th, 50 BK 16th, 400FC 16th, 100 BK 20th, 50 FC 20th, 200 FC 23rd, 100 FC 31st
Both Maddie and Charlotte were racing in the lower age group as 13-year-olds.
Tennis
In the ISTA Championships at Eton, our U15s made the main draw and our U13 girls made the quarter-final of the main draw, while our U13 boys finished as runners-up in the main draw final.
Volleyball
At the Brighton Beach Volleyball competition, our U18 boys and girls took second place and our U14s (in the U18 competition) came third.
Athletics
Thanks to all staff involved in the two sports days. They were brilliantly organised and efficiently run. The pupils were brilliant either by performance or by the support they gave all afternoon. School records were broken as mentioned below.

- Kent Schools Club Championships:
- U17’s Oliver Brooke 1st 400m – 50.69s and 2nd long jump – 6.06m
- U17’s Harriet Medlen 2nd 200m – 25.39s & 3rd 100m – 12.56s
- U20’s Georgia Baker 2nd hurdles – 15.69s & 3rd long jump – 5.40m (All qualify for inter-counties in September)
- English Schools Championships: inter and junior girls qualified (A regional final)
- Inter boys qualified (B regional final) though were unable to take part due a DofE expedition.
- Kent & London Schools Combined Championships:
- Inter boys – Oliver Brooke 1st, T Hobbs 3rd
- Junior boys – Kanishq Hari 3rd
- All progressed to represent Kent in regional final
- Kent Schools Championships: we had the highest number of participants achieving qualifying distances and times (20 in total).
- Highest participation event: over 60 athletes competed in a full meet against Forest School
- Pelican Shield Cup at Brighton College (boys and girls third overall vs Brighton, Wellington, Cranleigh, Epsom & St John’s)

- Oliver Brooke 2nd 400m (50.5s) and secured qualification to represent English Schools; 2nd long jump (6.02m)
- Tom Hobbs 8th high jump *Y10 (1.70m)

- Regional Combined Championships (Kent Representation)
- Senior girls heptathlon: Georgia Baker 6th overall,

- Junior boys heptathlon Kanishq Hari 3rd (Bronze)
- All students qualified to represent Kent at the combined events national final at Bedford International Athletics Stadium in September.
- Kent IAPS Championships:
- Year 7 & 8 combined 29 medals (12 gold, 11 silver, 6 bronze)
- 19 achieved times/distances to represent Kent at the national finals
- Kent national IAPS finals
- David Abobade gold in shot put (12.33 *new national record)
- Ben Catchpole 2nd in 1500m, Charlotte Bloodworth 3rd in 1500m
- English Schools Regional Championship Final:
- Inter girls 2nd overall, 446 points (missed nationals by a single point)
- Junior girls 5th overall, 347 points
- Kent Schools Track & Field Championships: 18 students achieved qualifying standards. A medal haul of 14 which included 4 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze.
