Sailing
Sevenoaks sailors competed at the BSDRA Thames Valley Team Racing regatta hosted by Royal Guildford School at Datchet Water Sailing Club on Saturday 8 June. We were among 13 schools and 21 teams who entered.
The day consisted of wall-to-wall sunshine and a shifty 10 knot SW breeze on the racecourse with Windsor Castle in the backdrop. Each team completed eight races in the round robin stage, Sevenoaks white finishing top of stage 1 with 100% wins and Sevenoaks Red finishing fifth, narrowly missing out on progressing to the next stage.
The knockout stage was the first to two race wins. Sevenoaks White won their semi-final, progressing to the grand final against RHS. Both teams had won a race in the grand final which meant the winner of the regatta was decided in a nail-biting final race with Sevenoaks White finishing second overall.
Sevenoaks White – 2nd overall
- Izzy Johnson
- Grace Davies
- Oli Chambers
- Henry Wilkinson
- Jamie Middleburgh
- Josh Beverley
Sevenoaks Red – 5th overall
- Kaz Burt
- Aaron Skeels
- Rosie Heydorn
- Allegra Fleming
- Arabella Parker
- Tessa Hellsten
Two Sevenoaks School teams competed in the Kent Schools Sailing Association Topper Team Racing Championship in Canterbury. Sevenoaks Red team sailed really well in the round robin and qualified for the semi-finals. They narrowly lost in the semi-finals to the eventual winners but won the petit final to come third overall.
Volleyball
At the Sevenoaks Outdoor Tournament, we hosted 10 teams. Sevenoaks boys won, beating Epsom 25-23 in the final and the girls came 2nd with 26-24 against Michael Hall School.
