Athletics
Tom Hobbs represented England at the schools combined events championships in Cardiff. The England team won gold, with Tom helping bring home the team title in the 800m, running a time of 2:08.
Basketball
All three boys’ teams won this week in the LISBA league, beating Dulwich College and Langley Park.
Cross country
The inter girls qualified and raced at the nationals in Suffolk, the team finished 23rd and well done to Alice Keen who was our first finisher at 39th.
Hockey
The 1st XI beat Norwich School 11 – 0 in the final Tier 1 game of this term, they look forward to playing Haileybury and Ipswich in the remaining group matches before hopefully moving into the knockout stages.
Indoor Hockey
The U18 girls are national champions! Having qualified through the county and regionals rounds, the girls returned to Repton (where they lost in the final on penalty strokes last year) to play in the national finals against the top 8 schools in the country. In the group, they beat Scarborough College 6-2, Framlingham College 3-2 and Kingston Grammar 3-1 in the group to finish the group on top and play the runners-up of the other group and reigning champions Repton in the semi-final. A fine performance saw them beat Repton 3-1 and play Framlingham again in the final. The girls played one of their best matches to win the National title 3 – 1. Josefina Hippe scored two in the final and was the overall top scorer of the tournament. Well done to the team!
Rugby
The 2nd XI were named ‘Team of the Moment’ on the Schools’ Rugby website after a narrow 20-19 win v Lingfield.
Squash
The girls KS4 team narrowly won their group at the first regional round. They advance through to the regional finals, where a win would send them through to the nationals.
Sailing
Paul Campbell-James (OS 2001), has been recruited to the Canada SailGP team (from the USA team). Read more here.
