The Co-curriculum
The purpose of a Sevenoaks education is much broader than academic success, and the co-curriculum plays an essential role in enabling our students to thrive both during and after their time at school.
The ambition of the Sevenoaks co-curriculum is that each student develops passions and principles which will endure for many years, and which will help them succeed as citizen of the world.

Service
Service and Partnerships work is a cornerstone of our educational philosophy and purpose at Sevenoaks. The vision of our founder, William Sevenoke, was to establish a school that would transform his community; this very much remains at the heart of the school’s objectives today. The purpose of the Service curriculum is to create positive, inclusive, and sustainable social change.
Our Service and Partnership Programme was identified a ‘significant strength’ in our latest Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) Report. This is the highest accolade and is only awarded to areas of a school’s provision that prove to be outstanding across the sector.
Visit Us
Our campus of some 100 acres sits in a splendid setting on the edge of Sevenoaks in west Kent. Surrounded by trees, it is a pleasant environment in which students can feel at home. The outdoor spaces are attractive, green and spacious, enhanced by sustainable planting, while the variety of buildings, learning areas and social spaces is characteristic of this historic but forward-looking school.
We hold a number of Open Mornings and Group Visits throughout the year which give a general introduction to the school, a tour of the campus and, if appropriate, a visit to a boarding house. Following a visit you can arrange an individual meeting with a member of the Admissions team.

Boarding
Boarding at Sevenoaks brings together students from around the world in a vibrant, supportive community spread across eight welcoming boarding houses. Boarders develop independence, form lifelong friendships and gain a truly global perspective.
The school aims to provide its pupils with a happy and secure learning environment. Sevenoaks hopes to furnish its boarders with a structured, relaxed, consistent and friendly home in which to develop into young adults, full of self-esteem, with a developed sense of responsibility and a deeply held academic rigour. It is our belief that young people thrive on high expectations and plenty of justified praise. Our many boarding staff are genuinely conscientious, committed, caring and approachable.
“The best part of Sevenoaks for me is boarding – it feels like a massive family. The boarding staff are always helpful and they’re just one door knock away. You can ask them about anything from academic pressure to what's on this weekend. ”
Ryan, Upper Sixth
