Cross country is a popular sport at Sevenoaks that compete in the Michaelmas term. Specialist coach training is available in this sport. Recent years have proved to be some of the most successful in cross country with successes in County and Regional events, the Knole Run and the school represented at the National Schools Cross Country Finals. The school has celebrated very impressive individual performances. With Knole Park next to the school we have superb training facilties.
The Knole Runs
From fairly modest beginnings and 22 teams in 1973, the Boys’ Senior Knole Run has continued to increase in popularity and this year there will be over 45 teams of runners competing. The course is 5.92 miles (9.02km) in distance, and, particularly in view of the terrain, is extremely demanding.
The Girls’ Senior Knole Run is now in its sixteenth year, and gives promising female runners an opportunity to compete in a similar race, although over the shorter distance of 2.2 miles. It is no less competitive!
The Junior Knole Run, which takes place in December, is also increasing in popularity. Over 35 teams from Prep and Junior schools across the South-East participate.
