Year 7 Assessment Day programme

Wednesday 6 January 2021 - revised programme to allow for self-distancing

Entrance Examinations

We have changed our process in order to enable our tests and interviews to be carried out safely. This is, of course, subject to change depending on Government guidelines.

There will be a morning and an afternoon exam session on Wednesday 6 January, both of which will involve an English, a Maths and a Verbal Reasoning test. Candidates should arrive wearing a mask and will be given hand sanitiser on arrival. They will be seated in the examination hall (which will be thoroughly cleaned before each session) at a safe distance from each other. Each candidate should bring a drink and snack with them if they would like one. There will be a 20 minute break between exams.

Candidates who have been granted extra time or word processing provision will be accommodated within the above timetable but will have a slightly earlier start. This will be explained to parents of these candidates nearer the time.

You will find past Maths and English papers and syllabus information here. There are no sample Verbal Reasoning papers but any of the 11+ practice papers such as the Bond or NFER series will be useful preparation.

Following the exams, 160 candidates will be shortlisted and invited to take part in a group interview on Saturday 23 January. Candidates will arrive 30 minutes before their 40 minute interview and will be welcomed by our Director of Admissions, Mrs Arabella Stuart. They will be collected immediately after the end of their interview. Again, candidates will be asked to wear a mask, and will be given hand sanitiser on arrival.

If your child or a member of your household is particularly vulnerable, please do contact us so we can discuss your particular needs.
