Sporting highlights

Some excellent results for our netball, basketball and rugby teams.

Badminton

Gloria Yeung represented Kent for her age group last weekend.

Basketball

Our U14s did brilliantly at the LISBA play off finals, finishing in third place overall.

Our U18s have qualified for their LISBA play off finals on Friday 17 March.

Cross Country 

Congratulations to Ben Catchpole who represented Kent Schools at the Junior Boys English Schools Cross Country Championships at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.

Football

Ffion Thomas’s West Kent District U13s girls team have qualified for the national final (for the second year running) at Stoke in May.

Bethan Thomas and Ffion travelled to play Sefton District (Liverpool) at Melwood training ground  with West Kent District U14s in the national cup semi final.  In an extremely tight and competitive fixture, West Kent eventually lost 2 – 0. 

Both Anjola Adekoya and Ffion played in the 5 – 1 Junior Premier League Cup victory over Bournemouth and now progress to the last 16 of the cup competition.

Motor Racing

Congratulations to Chloe Chong who has signed for PREMA Racing for the inaugural F1 Academy campaign. Chloe will be leaving the school to pursue her dream of racing in F1 and we wish her all the best for the future.

Netball

The U19s had a fantastic day at the national finals in Oundle. Eventually finishing joint 13th out of 1500 schools that had originally entered the competition, the team performed superbly and got to within a point or drew against some of the strongest teams in their group.

Lara Bailey (KCNC) and Ella Christopherson (Poole NC) have qualified for the national finals with their club sides.

Rugby

After winning the U15 Kent 7s last year, our U16 side were invited to the All England 7s competition at Grasshoppers rugby club. The finished fourth in their pool, and eventually lost to London Oratory in the plate quarter finals.

At the U13 County 7s tournament, our team won four out of five matches.

Rowing

Well done to Aryana Mahdavi Ardestani who competed at the Junior Inter Regional Regatta (JIRR) in Nottingham.

Squash

Our senior squash team finished fourth at the prestigious Roehampton tournament. This is our best ever finish continues our upward curve under the tutelage of Zeb Young.

The following have been selected to represent their Counties at the inter-counties tournament at the end of term:

Kent U19s – Gala Hermer, Carlota Hermer, Sam Ide

Kent U13s – Dehong Kong, Arnav George, Ethan Hu

Surrey U15s – Ciara Boulanger

Swimming

At the Bath and Otter Cup, a national competition, our girls team won the 4x50m freestyle Nalson Cup. Our girls team also finished fourth in the 4x50m medley final. Our boys 11th in the Freestyle and 15th in the medley, just missing out on a place in the final.
