Maths success

Two students competed in the British Mathematical Olympiad Round 2, the highest national level mathematics competition in the UK. Juan achieved a distinction, putting him in the top 25 per cent of competitors across the country.

Four of our Upper Sixth students were invited to take part in Mayfield School’s Integration Bee. It was modelled on the infamous MIT Integration Bee, with many of the problems taken from that competition. Needless to say, it was extremely hard going, with stiff competition from all present. Two of our students, Jamie and Leo, achieved second and third place respectively. Congratulations to them and to all who took part!

We recently took a team of five Upper School students to the Náboj, an international mathematics competition, held at Dulwich College, London. These students have worked hard for years on their problem-solving skills, regularly attending the Advanced Problem Solving Club. We were thrilled to see their hard work pay off with an incredible performance, placing third in the UK and 14th in the world, out of a thousand teams. A huge congratulations to Jamie, Juan, Teddy, Alex and Daniel!
