The Sevenoaks Green Week was once again a huge success, with a variety of activities organised by a team of service groups.
A particular highlight of the week was the Sevenoaks Swap Shop at Friday lunchtime. This is a social entrepreneurship initiative where students are encouraged to bring in their pre-loved clothes which they no longer wear. They can exchange them for credit to buy other students’ clothes, therefore reducing textiles emissions and the impact of fast fashion. This initiative raised £1000 for Kent Wildlife Trust.
On Thursday, the Lower School enjoyed a talk from visiting speaker Paul Turner from the Ministry of Eco Education, about taking charge as a consumer for sustainability. Other activities included a bake sale and home clothes day, with a green theme, both of which raised money for Kent Wildlife Trust.
Primary school students also visited the campus to take part in a carousel of green-themed activities, including making bug hotels using bamboo sticks.
