Art at Hospice in the Weald

Each week, Sevenoaks students volunteer at Hospice in the Weald, supporting the Living Well art therapy sessions for people living with life-limiting illnesses. Together with the patients, our students help create beautiful ceramic artworks and build meaningful relationships through shared creativity.

Reflecting on the experience on BBC Radio Kent, Teacher of Art Miss Delpech said: ‘We meet the guests where they’re at…our students can be their hands for them or support them. At the moment we’re creating a piece based on Monet’s Water Lilies, with ceramic flowers attached to it floating over the surface. It’s beautifully colourful. All of the flowers have been created by different day patients, volunteers and students.’

The project also featured on television on BBC South East Today Evening News.
