Year 9 French study trip to Montpellier

Share article:

After an early start we arrived at Montpellier to be greeted by our French host families, who took us to our houses for the week. Whilst staying with our French families we were immersed into French family life; from the interesting foods to speaking and asking all in French! Every morning we travelled by trams and buses to the French learning school which was situated just off the scenic city square. Once at the school we were invited to participate in fun and engaging lessons and activities, such as trips to the markets, performing our own French plays and regular questionnaire projects. In the afternoons we visited many different places, from the beach at Sète to the excursion to Avignon, a beautiful town about an hour away from Montpellier, famous for its historical landscape and sites. One afternoon we also participated in a French cookery lesson and later, feeling very proud of ourselves, feasted on our own creations. The trip to Montpellier was a great learning and exciting experience for all and I would encourage everyone to take part in this trip!
