US Colleges Trip 2015

Share article:

During half term a group of 19 students and two members of staff travelled around the North East of the United States visiting top universities. The trip was organised through College Visits and the director accompanied us throughout giving vital insights into the college application process.

We started with a day’s sightseeing in New York and then visited New York University and Columbia University. At Columbia we were toured by Old Sennockian Jess Hui, who gave us a personal insight into her life at Columbia and the application process.

After this, for most of the rest of the trip, it was two university visits every day and we attended information sessions with admissions officers as well as having tours at some of the most prestigious universities in the world, including Yale, Harvard and Princeton. At Yale we were toured by another Old Sennockian, Ewurama Okai and at Harvard we met up with Mofeyifoluwa Edun, Old Sennockian and sister of a member of the trip.

The students learned a lot from the trip and benefited greatly from visiting universities in person; in some cases it very much changed their opinions of the institutions and where to apply. It was a very busy week but everyone enjoyed themselves – we wish them the best of luck with their applications.
