Sevenoaks School has been shortlisted for the Talk Education Awards for Innovation in Education, in the Pastoral Care and Wellbeing category.
The Talk Education awards were launched in 2023 and are designed to celebrate the schools who are changing the face of independent education by forging ahead with new, revolutionary ideas. Talk Education hope to highlight schools who are doing inspiring work in a particular field, trailblazing, and, in their words, ‘doing things differently’.
The judges said, ‘We were blown away by the sheer number and quality of entries from hundreds of schools across the globe. Our crack team of judges has spent the summer locked away in very heated discussion, and we are thrilled to announce that Sevenoaks School has made the shortlist in our Pastoral Care and Wellbeing category. Huge congratulations!’
Sevenoaks was recognised for its involvement in Harvard University’s ground-breaking Human Flourishing Program, and its initiatives to support students’ happiness and life satisfaction; mental and physical health; meaning and purpose; character and virtue; and close social relationships – all key measures of flourishing. The school’s emphasis on equity, diversity and inclusion, and its new Parent Wellbeing Group also ensure that everyone in the community can help shape the school’s approach to promoting wellbeing and mental health.
