Sporting highlights

Basketball

The U14 boys qualified for the LISBA finals days, having secured a top four finish in the league. They lost in the semi-finals to Dulwich College and again in the 3rd/4th playoffs to Whitgift School to finish 4th overall.

Cricket

Girls’ U13A and U15A won the preliminary round of the Lady Taverner’s Indoor Cricket 8s Tournament, they are now through to the county finals day.

Cross Country

Having qualified through the county and regional rounds, the inter girls travelled to Leeds to take part in the English Schools Athletics Association National Final, finishing 17th in the country.

Football

Anjola Adekoya and Bethan Thomas made their debuts for Charlton Athletic U21 against Newcastle United U21s, both playing a full match and winning 4-0.

The boys teams played their last SKIL league fixtures on Saturday in a league containing Brighton College, Christ’s Hospital, Worth School, St John’s Leatherhead and King’s Canterbury. The below teams have won their respective leagues:

  • Boys U16A XI
  • Boys U15A XI
  • Boys U15B XI
  • Boys U14B XI will win the league if St John’s don’t beat King’s by more than 3 goals.

The boys’ U16B XI finished second and the boys’ 2nd XI finished second on goal difference by one goal.

Hockey

The U12 boys finished third in the county tournament. They won the quarter finals on a penalties before unluckily losing in the last minute of the semi-finals, going on to win the final paly-off match.

Rugby

The U13 boys won the Culley Cup at Sevenoaks Prep. They were unbeaten all day, winning all five of their matches.

The U13 boys won the shield trophy at the Windlesham School 7s Tournament. They won six matches and only lost one over the course of the day.

The U14 boys won the Downsend School Rugby 7s Cup, winning all six of their matches throughout the day beating Claremont, Downsend, Lingfield, Reigate, Caterham and Dunnotar.

Shooting

Izzy Wen and Rafe Wormsley competed at the British Airgun Champs over the weekend of 21-23 February. Izzy and Rafe both finished 8th in their respective competitions.

Squash

The KS3 girls’ team are National Schools Plate Champions, having won all their matches on finals day in Birmingham.

The KS4 girls were runners up in the National Schools Championships. They narrowly lost 2 – 3 to Kenilworth School in the final, with the title coming down to the very last match.

Swimming

Anika Umalkar represented her swim club in the national arena swimming finals held in Cardiff.

At the Bath and Otter Cup held at the London Aquatic Centre, the boys finished fourth in the medley relay and 15th in the front crawl relay. The girls finished 23rd in the front crawl relay.

Table Tennis

The U13 boys are East of England Champions in the Team Schools Competition.

Water Polo

The U14 mixed team, played Caterham School at home in their first fixture of the season.

OLD SENNOCKIANs

Amelia Tsang represented Great Britain at the Championnats d’Europe Juniors in Turkey.
