Athletics
In the first round of the ESAA English Schools’ Track & Field Cup 2021 the Year 9 and 10 Girls finished as Kent Winners.
Charlotte Bloodworth is currently ranked fourth in the UK at 1500m for the U13 age category.
Three of our athletes represented Kent at the Regional Combined Events Championship which took place at Lee Valley Stadium at the end of July:
- Oliver Brooke (who competed a year young) finished seventh out of 18.
- Tom Hobbs finished fifth out of 18 and has qualified for nationals in September.
- Georgia Baker’s finishing position is to be confirmed, however sat in fourth position after the first day.
Sevenoaks competed against Epsom, Caterham, St John’s, Brighton and Cranleigh in a fantastic meet which took place at Epsom College. There were some outstanding individual performances but we are waiting confirmation of overall results.
Lewis Church (Coach) finished second in the Men’s Decathlon British Championships.
Cricket
Our U15 cricket team lost in the final of the Kent Cup, however it was a great effort to reach that stage and the team learned plenty of lessons to take forward into the future. The U14 and 1st XI sides were also both knocked out in their semi-finals in the Kent Cup.
Our U13A reached the Semi Final of the Dulwich Prep tournament.
Our U14A and U15A sides both won their respective T20 competitions. Harry House (U14A) scored his second hundred of the season in the first match and Ben Dawkins (U14A) scored his first ever hundred in the final.
It was a great last day of term as we hosted the Marylebone Cricket Club and lovely to see all the supporters at Solefields in such good spirits. Unfortunately, the MCC were too strong on this occasion.
Hockey
Will Galloni played for HC Knole Park as they won the National Plate competition.
Well done to Kammy Bussey, Bella Munoz, Summer Knight-Thompson, Amber Croll, Ines Gascoyne-Day and Carlotta Kern and to our coach Adam Ward who won the U14 National Championships for HC Knole Park.
Congratulations to Imogen Moran, Betrys Galloni, Phoebe Gough-Cooper and Annabel Cheveley who finished second in the National Finals playing for HC Knole Park.
William Galloni played for South Saxons at the U13 Festival of Hockey tournament in Nottingham. After captaining his team, Will was invited to play for the UK Lions Hockey Squad until August 22.
Netball
Eva Okaro and Eva Matthew have been selected into the U15 long squad for London Pulse. There were 165 trialists and they are down to the last 25. They will now train until August when they will make final cut to 12. Good luck girls!
Sailing
Will Caiger, Tom Baulkwill and India Trenowden won the Hyde Sails RYA U19 Match Racing Championships held at the National Sailing Academy in Weymouth.
Sports Days
It was really fantastic to host our Sports Days for Y7-10 over the last weeks of term. There was so much excitement and resilience shown from all pupils and it was so brilliant to have these events in-person after a one-year gap. Thanks to all staff involved.
Tennis
Our senior girls showed great resilience by pushing Eastbourne all the way in the semi-final of the National Cup, narrowly losing the shootout.
Matthew McLain was the winner of the U12 doubles at the Tennis Europe in Halton.
