Athletics
Sevenoaks enjoyed their most recent fixture against Forest School, providing opportunities for many of those who hadn’t yet represented the school. this term. There has been a fantastic uptake this term and it was a real highlight to see so many gain a competitive experience for their hard work in training.
There were some brilliant performances at the Kent county championships:
- Harriet Medlen – Finished third in the U17 100m final with a time of 12.56s and managed to go one further in the 200m, picking up second in the final with a time of 25.39s. With two medals and PBs for Harriet and things look bright given she competed a year young.
- Oliver Brooke – Finished first within the U17 400m event with a time of 50.69s and achieving a new school record in the process. He also picked up second place in the Long Jump with a distance of 6.06m falling just short of the record he set in the previous week.
- Georgia Baker – Finished second in the U20 100m hurdles event with a time of 15.69s and also achieved a bronze medal in the long jump with a distance of 5.40m.
Whilst completing her GCSEs, Anne-Sophie Bremans also found time to achieve a new 400m school record whilst competing in Belgium (Antwerp) over the weekend, clocking a time of 55.94s.
