SingOFF 2025

This year, on 7 November, we held the annual SingOFF competition in the Pamoja Hall. Twelve students from Year 9 to Upper Sixth performed in front of an audience of 400 and four teacher judges. Every performer sang with passion and talent, receiving enthusiastic reactions from the crowd. Despite the unusual timing of the event, tickets were completely sold out.

A live band accompanied our singers, featuring drums, bass, and guitar, with Mr Palmer and Seia (U6) on piano. Our judges – Mr Oberti Oddi, Mr Smith, Miss Hill, and Mr Savoye – kindly volunteered their time, with special mention to Mr Oberti Oddi for his glamorous attire. During the intermission, both the audience and judges voted for their favourite performance -a difficult task, as all the performers exceeded expectations.

Simona (U6) performed ‘Skyfall’ by Adele, earning third place. Merryn  (Y10) delivered an emotional rendition of ‘Burn’ from Hamilton, taking second. Finally, Gabriel (L6) captivated the audience with a powerful performance of ‘It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World’, securing first place. A huge congratulations to all the performers and everyone who auditioned for the SingOFF!

We raised over £2,300 for Valence School and its associated charities – an institution providing specialised education and opportunities for children with disabilities. The headmaster of Valence, Mr Strange, and his wife, Mrs Strange, also joined us in the audience that evening.

Once again, thank you to the SingOFF team, Mr Palmer for co-organising, and everyone who participated or came to support this wonderful event!

Olivia, U6
