RIBA Award Shortlisting for New House

We’re delighted to see one of our boarding houses, New House, shortlisted for the 2026 RIBA South East Awards.

New House, designed by Tim Ronalds Architects, is the latest addition to our boarding  houses. Sustainable and state-of-the-art, it accommodates 60 girls and offers comfortable, contemporary living, amid the rich heritage of our 600-year-old school.

The house is designed to complement its woodland setting, nestling into the hillside to present a relatively low, almost domestic scale profile to the adjacent Park Grange lawn.  Internally, ash panelling, oak floors and terracotta tiles sit alongside colourful walls, creating a welcoming, calm atmosphere.  The house is designed to Passivhaus principles for a low-carbon future.

Tim Ronalds Architects have created a series of outstanding, inspiring learning and living spaces at Sevenoaks, including other RIBA Award winning buildings such as Aisher House, The Space, and the Science and Technology and Brian Ong Global Centres.

Sevenoaks School offers modern boarding for 450 students in eight houses, which range from a beautiful, rambling, Queen Anne property to Aisher House (2019) and New House (2025). Our boarding community is the size of many whole boarding schools, and our boarders are at the very heart of all aspects of school life.

This year’s winning projects will be announced by RIBA in the spring.
