Over the Easter holidays, 60 Year 10 students had the chance to go to Florida for a Physics trip.
During this trip we learnt the science behind some of the most popular rides in theme parks such as Disney, Universal and SeaWorld. We got VIP access to the rides and participated in the Disney YES programme, which allowed us to become Disney Imagineers for the day and see the behind the scenes of their parks! All the parks were lots of fun to spend time in, especially since we got to spend most of the day going on all the rides (which were terrifying!)
We also took a dive into astrophysics when we visited the Kennedy Space Centre, even getting to witness the spectacular physics behind rocket launches, first-hand, when we saw the Falcon 9 rocket launch – it was truly an awe-inspiring experience!
Our evenings were filled with many brilliant activities, such as an escape room and trying out iFly. A highlight of our evening activities was visiting WonderWorks, where we ate dinner whilst enjoying a comedy magic show. We later got to explore all the attractions within WonderWorks with our friends, such a laser-tag room and a gyroscope ride which we all loved.
The trip was a fantastic insight into physics, packed with many exciting activities and was a great time spent with lovely teachers and our friends!
