CCF Cadet Cambrian Patrol

Sevenoaks School CCF team were awarded the Gold medal at this year’s Cadet Cambrian Patrol.

Out of over 70,000 cadets nationally, only 22 teams of eight cadets are invited each year to Sennybridge training area in Wales to undertake the Cadet Cambrian Patrol. From those 22 teams, seven were awarded the coveted Gold award, only three of which were CCF teams.

During the event, the teams are left unaccompanied to patrol tactically over 25km across difficult terrain and undertake a variety of military skills tasks, such as observation, first aid, casualty evacuation, fire control and military knowledge. Team leadership is also tested through the orders and platoon attacks process.

To gain an invitation, each team must have previously won their regional military skills competition (or similar) and therefore competing teams represent the top one per cent in the country.
