Over the summer, the Sevenoaks School CCF Army Section threw themselves into one of the most action-packed and rewarding camps in recent memory—a full week of military training, teamwork, and adventure.
The week began at Bordon Training Area, where cadets were immediately immersed in high-energy exercises designed to stretch their thinking and test their leadership. After a few days of tactical training, the cadets moved to Longmoor Ranges where under expert supervision, cadets practised shooting from prone and kneeling positions.
To top it all off, cadets were flown across Bramley Training Area in a Chinook helicopter, before being dropped off to launch patrols preparing for the final assault. The final test exercise saw cadets carry out reconnaissance patrols, launch ambushes, repair communication arrays, and work tirelessly to out-think and out-manoeuvre the opposition. One of the most memorable moments came during a night exercise involving a simulated helicopter crash.
Throughout the camp, our cadets displayed remarkably calm maturity, and leadership under pressure.
