Congratulations to all those who took part in this year’s Bath International Schools’ Model United Nations conference. Sevenoaks students earned several commendations after an intellectually stimulating weekend of debating key global issues including Artificial Intelligence, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and climate change.

“BISMUN was an opportunity for me to not only expand my knowledge on global issues, but also to make friends and meet new people from all over the country, with entirely different backgrounds. The event gathers people from all around, with similar interests to yourself, inspiring and eliciting conversations about the most detrimental issues faced within our world. The combination of contrasting views and opinions in the room was particularly inspiring, demonstrating the power of our youth when they collaborate to tackle such significant challenges. Overall, the experience was mind-opening; the element of cultural engagement involved with many debates was exciting, bringing forward entirely new information which I otherwise wouldn’t have been stimulated to explore.”
