Jeremy Hunter Lecture

We welcomed award-winning photo-journalist Jeremy Hunter. Jeremy led a Photojournalism and TV reporting workshop for students and then delivered a fascinating keynote talk Tribes: Exploring the DNA of the World’s Cultures Through their Rituals and Celebration.

We were treated to an explosion of colour, culture and festivity including the Bull Jumping Ceremony of Lower Omo Valley, Ethiopia, the Great Head-Washing Festival of Shravanabelagola, India and the Virgen del Carmen Festival of Paucartambo, Peru. Jeremy’s photographic exploration of the beliefs and faiths of the world’s cultures provided an important insight into how we can and should respect cultures and diversity.
