Cross Country
Congratulations to our junior girls (first) and senior boys (second) teams who are through to the national finals of the ESAA XC Cup in Newquay. Our inter girls just missed out as they finished fourth overall. There were some fine individual performances from Ben Catchpole (fourth), Charlotte Bloodworth (fourth), Victoria Kern (sixth), Sophie Fleming (ninth), Fenton Davoren (eighth) and Dan Hadden (11th).
Fencing
Amelie Tsang (Y11) represented Great Britain at Cadet (U17) foil in Budapest over the weekend. Amelie’s GBR Team won bronze after defeating Turkey in the bronze play-off (46 teams competed). GBR lost to USA in the semis. In the individual event, Amelie finished 46th out of 265 fencers.
Amelie has also been selected to represent Great Britain in foil in the Junior (U20) World Cup in Timisoara, Romania and the EFC Cadet (U17) foil in Cabries, France.
Woser Prossor (L6) has been selected as reserve for Great Britain in foil at the Junior World Cup in Leszno, Poland.
Maddie Gale (U6) has been selected to represent Great Britain in foil at the Junior World Cup in Timisoara, Romania.
Piero Steiner (U6) has been selected to represent Great Britain in Epee at the Junior (U20) World Cups in Luxembourg and Riga, Latvia.
Golf
Congratulations to Sanjana Sharma (Y9) who has been selected for the Kent Junior Ladies squad.
Hockey
Our 1st XI beat Hurstpierpoint to reach the quarter finals of the Tier 2 National Cup.
The U16 side are Kent Indoor Champions after showing superb resilience during penalty flicks at the end of the final.
The U13 side were runners up at the UKSA tournament on Wednesday.
Netball
The U13 side won against Colfe’s in the regional cup.
Participation
We put out E teams for Lower School hockey fixtures this week for the first time. It was amazing to have all pupils involved.
We also put out A-D rugby teams versus King’s Canterbury, meaning every boy Year 9 played (minus the sailors). We played a combination of contact and touch matches to allow those less confident the opportunity to enjoy the game.
Volleyball
Our U18 girls’ volleyball team competed at the London Schools Sports Association (LSSA) championships over the weekend. On Friday night a narrow loss to Marymount School then a convincing win against the German School London meant the team competed in the Division 2 playoffs. The girls won both their pool games against Southbank International School and ACS Egham putting them into the final against ACS Hillingdon. An excellent final that was closely contested with ACS winning 15-13 in the final set.
