How the AI Revolution is Reinventing Misogyny

A huge thank you to activist, writer, speaker and journalist Laura Bates BEM FRSL for joining us at Sevenoaks on Wednesday. Laura delivered a talk to all Year 9 students, a workshop to staff and a keynote evening lecture open to the public.

Laura Bates is founder of the Everyday Sexism Project website and is a prominent campaigner for gender equality.

The Year 9 talk explored the reality of gender inequality, looking at the ways in which it manifests itself in young people’s lives and how young people can play a vital role in creating a more equal future.

The staff workshop developed understanding of the landscape of misogyny and the signs to look out for, and gave insight into new forms of technology to be aware of and how best to challenge minor misogyny in schools.

The evening keynote talk focused on how new AI-driven technologies are creating a seismic shift in the way our society operates, bringing both opportunities and challenges. Laura is a brilliant communicator, and her talks were poignant, thought-provoking and important.
