Sevenoaks students have achieved success in the first round of the International Chemistry Olympiad.
Over 25 students took part in the rigorous two-hour IChO paper earlier this year. They were challenged on all aspects of chemistry, from modelling fizzy drinks to understanding the kinetics of nerve agents, to biodegradable plastics. Fifteen certificates were awarded in total, including seven bronze and seven silver certificates as well as a superb gold certificate for Yasmine Kanagalingam (Upper Sixth).
The Lower Sixth are now preparing for the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge in June.
