We were delighted to welcome Dr Genevieve Hudson (OS 94) back to Sevenoaks this week to talk to Year 9 students and to give a public lecture in The Space, on the subject of Better Democracy and Revitalising Representation.
Dr Hudson is Deputy CEO at Social Investment Business. She has lectured at Oxford, Cambridge, Birkbeck and École Normale Supérieure in Paris in Sociology and Politics.
Dr Hudson talked about different political ideologies and the kind of state now being built in Britain. She argued that the British climate change state is quietly re-regulating both from the centre and through devolution. This creates opportunities for citizens, but only if we come together and seize them.
The talk was thought-provoking, relevant and interesting and we send our thanks to Dr Hudson.
