Sevenoaks School’s annual Crash into Christmas concert once again brought the community together for an unforgettable evening of festive cheer. Held in a sold-out Pamoja Hall, the event showcased the incredible talent and versatility of our student ensembles, setting the perfect tone for the holiday season.

The night opened with the Big Band, whose lively renditions of classics such as ‘I Want You Back’ and ‘The Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ immediately had the audience tapping their feet.

Adding variety to the programme, The Hit Squad delivered a nostalgic twist with the Ski Sunday theme, while the Flute Choir enchanted listeners with their delicate arrangement of ‘Jingle Silent Angels’. The Pastorius Ensemble brought a soulful vibe with ‘Josie’ and a heartfelt ‘Riding Home for Christmas’, before the Jazz Band lifted spirits with festive favourites including ‘Here Comes Santa Claus’ and ‘Feliz Navidad’.

After a short interval, the second half opened with the Saxophone Mega Band performing a vibrant ‘Let It Snow’, followed by the Crash Choir’s magical performances of ‘Heavenly Aeroplane’ and ‘Snowman’ (by Sia). The Sax Quartet then treated the audience to two well-loved pieces, ‘The Entertainer’ and ‘Santa Claus is Coming’ to Town. Other standout moments included the Gillespie Ensemble’s mashup, Noah’s performance of ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’, and the Woods Ensemble’s Christmas medley.

The evening concluded with a spectacular finale featuring all performers and a special visit from Father Christmas, filling the hall with music and festive joy.

A huge well done to everyone involved in making this event such a success; it was the perfect way to usher in the holiday season at Sevenoaks.
