A rich and diverse co-curriculum
We are proud to offer a wide range of activities outside the classroom encompassing music, sport, art, drama, CCF, DofE, service, clubs and expeditions. Sevenoaks is very lucky to have superb facilities on site including The Space for performing arts and the Sennocke Centre for sports, both of which have recently been constructed. We are also close enough to London that some of our most talented pupils are able to go up to the London Music Academies and groups regularly go on concert and theatre trips or visit galleries there.
The school strikes an excellent balance between involving as many pupils as possible and facilitating opportunities for those with ambition in a particular area.

Part of the co-curriculum that particularly distinguishes Sevenoaks is its approach to Service. All pupils in the school take part in Service activities and we encourage them to develop a strong sense of responsibility and an appreciation of the importance of helping both the local and the international community. This includes visiting the elderly, helping with disabled, assisting in primary schools, working in charity shops and so on. This ethos also extends to our international expeditions, many of which have a Service objective.
The co-curricular programme is a vital part of any child's education and this is consistent with Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) being at the Core of the International Baccalaureate. Activities outside the classroom enhance the learning environment, allow pupils to develop the skills needed to work with other people and provide opportunities for individuals to differentiate themselves. The emphasis on a broad co-curricular programme throughout the school is based on the conviction that individuals thrive in an environment in which their abilities and talents are recognised and nurtured. Most importantly the co-curricular programme is about pupils having fun and finding activities that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives.
