Twenty students from all year groups attended our annual cross country training camp in the South Downs over the half term break.

Each day started with an optional early morning run involving mostly seniors and some keen inters. Four mandatory sessions took place involving hills, intervals, long run and fartlek. There were two theory sessions each day, focusing on running form, strength, stretching and nutrition. There was also some time for yoga to help with recovery and relaxation. Everyone who took part put in a great amount of effort and hard work to complete the sessions. The atmosphere was excellent; students motivated one another and showed resilience towards the end of a hard run or session.

In the evenings, there were board games, pizza and film night and a pub meal to celebrate their achievement in completing all those miles! On the final morning, all students completed a Parkrun in Horsham – a great way to finish the trip!
