Yesterday three members of our Vote16 Service group attended an event in the Churchill Room in the House of Commons ahead of the government’s landmark announcement to lower the voting age.
The two-day event hosted by the Politics Project included collaborative youth networking on Tuesday, before the delegates headed to Westminster on Wednesday where they spoke to MPs, civil servants and social action groups in a drop-in session. They were then part of a group presentation where they spoke about how the government might support young people to access trusted, neutral political information.
Our student Vote16 group was also credited for their contributions to Democracy Classroom’s Roadmap to Votes at 16 project. Well done to our students on their hard work for this cause at this important moment in history.
