Cross Country

Twenty students travelled to the South Downs over half term for our annual cross country training camp. Students enjoyed a range of theory lessons, practical runs involving hills, intervals, long run and fartlek and yoga classes.

Hockey

Our 1st XI are through to the quarter fnals of the National Cup competition after beating Alleyn’s 3-0.

Golf

Sanjana Sharma came third place in the Rome Classic Tournament in her age group. This is an international tournament and qualifies for the final World Championships held in the USA and the Junior World Scoreboard.

Netball

Over half term 21 netballers travelled to Barbados for pre-season training. The girls had a fantastic time, enjoying two training sessions with a Barbados coach and five matches per team. The girls were undefeated on the trip but more importantly had the opportunity to bond together as teammates which should help prepare for a prosperous season ahead. On top of this they got to experience much of the island’s natural wildlife from turtles, to eagle rays, while creating some fantastic memories! Thank you to all the staff and pupils involved for a memorable trip.

Power Lifting

Jago Masters travelled to Hartlepool to the Strongman competition (North of England Log and Deadlift Championship 2022). This was his first competition and he not only won first place in the Under 16 category (at only 14) but smashed the current unofficial deadlift world record of 160kg with an impressive personal best of 185kg in his age category.

Sailing

Martin Atilla and Becky Caiger (OS 2022) represented GBR at the RS Aero European Youth (U22) Team Racing Championships in Italy and won the event!

Tennis

Our junior girls beat St Paul’s 5-1 in the semifinal of the National Cup to reach the regional finals. Our junior boys play on Thursday in their semifinal versus Reed’s.

It has been a successful half-term for Tommy Cuomo. He won two U18 Grade 4 tournaments (one in Taunton and one in Coventry), and played in a number of doubles, coming runner-up and third in two U14 G3 tournaments in Sutton and having the chance to play in the National U14 Grade 1 Doubles in Nottingham where they won their Round of 16 match.

Nate de Mariveles has entered the Tennis Europe tournament in Liverpool at the weekend.
