Athletics

At the first round of the English Schools’ cup, the junior and inter girls’ teams finished first while the junior and inter boys finished second. All teams await news of the next round.

Isabella Cluley has broken the school record for 100m with her 14.0s time on Friday at the English Schools first round. (previous record set in 1992 14.08s)

Sabrina Sinha competed at the BMC Grand in Manchester this weekend. She ran in the A race against senior GB athletes including Jess Judd. She ran a PB of 4.18.72, well within the qualifying time for the European Youth Championships, which is 4.26. That currently ranks her as number 1 on the IAAF U18 World rankings.

After her fourth place finish at the London mini-marathon, Phoebe Barker has been invited to the London Marathon Young Athlete Camp.

Badminton

Rory Easton won two silvers and a bronze at the English nationals.

Cricket

Congratulations to our teams on 100 per cent wins versus Cranbrook last week.

Chris Tavaré hosted a brilliant Primary Schools’ cricket tournament on Friday. Weald and Otford are promoted to the first division next season.

Rounders

Our teams gained have some excellent wins across the board and the U14 and U15 sides even got to play against England.

Sailing

At the Bough Beech Feva open, Sevenoaks finished as the top six teams beating boats from Tonbridge School and local clubs.

Yachtsman of the Year and Olympic medallist Ian Walker (OS 1988) led the Itchenor Sailing Club team to victory at the Nonsuch Bay RS Elite Challenge 2016 in Antigua.

SwimmingCongratulations to Ellie Vowell who won the gold medal for the 50m in the South East Regional Swimming Championships, and bronze in the 200m.

Tennis

Our teams enjoyed a superb number of victories against a strong Cranleigh School.
