Social Enterprise Day 2018

Share article:

On Monday 29 January, the entire Lower Sixth took part in a Social Enterprise Day run by Entrepreneurs in Action (EiA).

They spent the morning taking part in a variety of activities, including measuring social impact by reviewing the school’s service model and researching the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development (SDGs).

In the afternoon they were asked to pick one of the SDGs and create their own social enterprise to pitch to a group of investors.

We welcomed over 40 parents, staff and external ‘investors’ for the afternoon’s speed-pitching challenge, in which they pitched their idea and then responded to investor questioning. The investors were impressed with some of the impressive and feasible concepts they had managed to develop in such a short period of time.

One student commented, ‘I had an absolutely lovely day and I cannot wait to start the business that we created!’

Thank you to EiA and all volunteer investors for taking part.
