The BSDRA national finals took place at West Kirby Sailing club on 29-30 June and saw 16 teams competing from all over the country. Sevenoaks entered two teams and both performed well on day one, qualifying for the top eight gold league in first and fifth place respectively.

The second day of competition saw extremely close racing in bright warm sunshine and Sevenoaks A continued their form to top the gold league and qualify for the semi-finals as top seeds. Sevenoaks B narrowly missed out, finishing sixth, but sailed incredibly well and they were the best B team in the competition.

Sevenoaks A went on to beat Winchester 2-0 in their semi-final and progressed to the best of five final against arch-rivals Magdalen College School. MCS went 2-1 up which left Sevenoaks on the brink but they dug deep in two epic final races to emerge victorious 3-2 and become British Schools Champions for 2015.

This is a fantastic result and richly deserved for a team who have shown immense commitment and determination throughout the season. It also caps a year where Sevenoaks have won every schools competition they have entered! Congratulations to all.
