The 42nd Boys and 20th Girls Knole Run took place in Knole Park on Saturday. After the large amount of rain in the previous two weeks, the course was already boggy, muddy and slippery, but it was made more challenging by freezing temperatures the night before, so that parts were also frozen solid; the day of the race itself was very cold.
One hundred and sixty runners took part in the girls race of almost three miles, which was won by Kitty Shepherd-Cross from Downe House in 19 mins 15 secs, with the team race won by Sevenoaks School, with Walthamstow Hall second, and The Godolphin & Latymer School third). Nearly 300 runners took part in the boys race of almost six miles, which was won by James Puxty from Skinners School in 32 mins 33 secs, with the team race won by Shrewsbury School (94), ahead of The Judd in second place (95), with St Albans School third. Sevenoaks School would like to thank Lord Sackville, the National Trust and the Knole Estate for giving permission to use the park.
