Huge congratulations to Yiannis Scotiniadis (L6) who was one of the winners of the Royal College of Science Union’s Science Challenge.

Participants were asked to produce a short piece of science communication, in answer to one of four questions set by the prestigious guest judges. Yiannis chose Professor Kathy Sykes’s prompt Science Across Scales which asked students to ‘describe a new frontier or dimension in science you think we’re going to explore which will teach us more about ourselves, our world, or our universe.’

Yiannis was also awarded the Humour prize and was commended by the judges for the appropriate and effective use of humour in his entry.

The RCSU is a student union and science outreach organisation at Imperial College London which represents over 3,000 students in the university’s Faculty of Natural Sciences. The Science Challenge is RCSU’s annual science communication competition which gives young scientists the opportunity to develop the skills to talk about science in an accessible way.

Well done to Yiannis on this excellent achievement.
