The Imperial Icicle, an event run by Imperial College London for university and school teams took place over the weekend of 11-12 March at Brent reservoir near Wembley. Sevenoaks entered two teams into the ten team competition.
The conditions were very light all weekend. Saturday saw all the teams race against each other with the top five advancing to gold league and bottom five into silver. The Sevenoaks teams both performed well and qualified for the gold league.
Sunday was even lighter than Saturday, but Sevenoaks again looked impressive with the A team finishing second overall and top school (again) and the B team fourth – another great set of results for the Sevenoaks squad defeating teams from both Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
Next up for the A team is the UK Team Racing National Championships on 18-19 March.
