Educating for Creativity Week

During the week beginning 2 October, we held the school’s first Educating for Creativity Week. The Education Action Group selected the charity WaterAid, to raise money for throughout the week. This celebration of creativity provided our students with opportunities to take part in a wide variety of activities and workshops.

Lunchtime sessions featured an introduction to linoprinting and a new artistic experience for many at the Gothic calligraphy session. The cake-decorating activity was a delicious success, with students designing and decorating their own cakes.

On Thursday, we celebrated National Poetry Day during assembly. The Verve team delivered an inspiring talk, and students then had the privilege of hearing readings from the previous prizewinners.

Our ongoing photography competition, on the theme of refuge, continues to inspire our students to use their imagination and skills capturing moments through the lens.

We ended the week with a home clothes day, with all the money raised going to support WaterAid.
