As the 2017 university offers season nears the end of its cycle, we are delighted to report a phenomenal set of offers from world class UK, US and international universities.

From Sevenoaks, 234 applicants have received 891 offers from UK universities. This means that our students were successful in 80 per cent of all their applications across the cohort, with 71 students receiving offers from all five universities they applied to and over two thirds receiving four offers or more.

We had particularly pleasing offer rates from Durham (98 offers), UCL (88 offers) and Exeter (84 offers). Forty-nine students received offers from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, with Cambridge making 34 offers and Oxford 15 offers.

Medicine and Veterinary Science Our prospective Medics and Veterinary Scientists have had a record year. Every single one of our 19 students has been successful. Together they have secured a total of 46 offers to study Medicine or Veterinary Medicine. Of particular note, seven Sevenoaks students received offers from UCL where approximately 2500 applications to the Medical School are received each year, for a total of 322 places. For Medicine, Bristol offered four places, Cardiff, Queen Mary, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Southampton, Barts and KCL all offered three places each, Oxford, UEA and Imperial each made two offers, and other universities making one offer included Liverpool, St George’s, HYMS, Birmingham and Manchester.

International offers Those who applied to universities overseas were equally successful. This year, 39 students made applications to the US covering 67 different US colleges, making a total of 273 applications. The US picture isn’t yet fully complete, as some of our students remain on the waitlist at top institutions, but we have 84 excellent offers so far: Five students have offers from Stanford. To put this in context, this year only 2050 students were admitted to Stanford from an applicant pool of 44,073 applicants (less than five per cent admit rate). Three students have places at UPenn who chose 3699 applicants from a pool of 40,413 and two students have places at Yale where the admit rate was only 6.9 per cent.

Students also received offers from Brown, Columbia, Cornell and Yale-NUS. Multiple offers were made by Boston University, Emory, George Washington, Georgia Tech, Northeastern, Northwestern, NYU, Syracuse, Tufts, UC Davis, UCLA, UC San Diego, UChicago and UMichigan.

Other prestigious universities that have accepted Sevenoaks students include: Babson, Barnard, Boston College, Brandeis, Carnegie Mellon, Fordham, Mount Holyoke, Reed College, Sarah Lawrence, Smith, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Miami, University of Southern California and the University of Virginia.

Our Art and Design and Architecture students were also extremely successful receiving offers from the top US Art Schools including Parsons, the Pratt Institute, Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, RISD, Savannah College of Art and Design, School of the Art Institute Chicago and the Southern California Institute of Art.

Twelve students applied to Canada receiving offers from UBC, McGill and the University of Toronto and all seven students who applied to The University of Hong Kong, HKUST and CUHK have received offers.
