Following a successful season the U12 netball team competed in the county tournament. A determined group of ten girls went out to prove that they could win, just as the Sevenoaks U13 team did a few weeks ago.

After a slow start, managing to draw one against Dartford Grammar and losing to Rochester, Sevenoaks began to find their form. The girls finished the pool round with two strong performances against Homewood School (11-0) and St Lawrence (7-2) meant they Sevenoaks had finished second and therefore qualified for the quarter-finals.

Sevenoaks then faced a strong Colfe’s team who had finished top of their pool. A hard-fought game ended with a 2-2 draw. With an extra four minutes to be played, Sevenoaks managed to score and retain procession, winning the match 3-2.

In the semi-final Sevenoaks met Chislehurst & Sidcup. Sevenoaks took an early lead in the first half, but with a strong attacking line-up the opposition were fighting for their lives. Sevenoaks really showed what a strong team they were with interceptions being taken by every player on the court, and enjoyed a 6-4 victory. They then faced Highworth in the final.

After convincing wins throughout the day, the girls knew this was going to be a tough game; they needed to remain focused. They started strong with some brilliant interceptions out of defence, careful hands from the mid court and some amazing shots from the shooters. Sevenoaks really gave it their all to achieve a deserving 5-3 win.
