This year the Big Gig presented Disney Through The Decades, a concert with students ranging from Year 7 to Upper Sixth performing their favourite Disney songs. There was an amazing diversity of acts from DJing while playing the saxophone, to piano duets, string quartets and some incredible vocals by soloists and a capella groups. With the songs being well-known the atmosphere was great and the concert became interactive as the audience waved their glow sticks and sang along to the surprise teachers’ number and finale. It was a successful evening that was enjoyed by all, and the proceeds of £2300 were split between two great charities, the Make a Wish Foundation who provide comfort to terminally ill children, and Refugee Action who help refugees in the UK build safe, hopeful and productive new lives.
