Summer Sport Highlights 2014-2015

Athletics

At the Trinity Schools’ Athletics competition, the U15 girls team won and Cameron Roberts broke the school 800m record in the U15 boys competition.

Hockey

Two senior sides travelled to the Cape Town International Hockey tournament during the holidays performing admirably against world class opposition.

Netball

Jessie Oliver has been selected for the regional netball academy for the forthcoming year.

Rugby

There was successful training camp during the penultimate week of the holidays where the players received top quality coaching from Louis Deacon (England) and Colin Stevens (Wales).

Sailing

Sevenoaks School Sailing team rounded off a fantastic year by winning the British Schools National Championships help at West Kirby Sailing Club on 29-30 June. The finals saw 16 teams competing from all over the country.

The senior team also competed in the world championships in the summer holidays representing GBR, where they finished a fantastic fourth place.

Tennis

The senior boys competed at the national finals during the summer break, finishing a fantastic 15th place in the entire country.

Charlotte Imbert competed in the Kent County Closed Championship in Bromley last week, in the 14U girls and 16U girls competitions. She was semi-finalist in the U16 and won the 14U tournament, an achievement unmatched at Sevenoaks in a long time.

The following teams are all Kent inter-schools champions:

Senior boys vs Kings Canterbury: won 6-0

Oscar Gordon-Reid, Andrew Johnstone, Alex Lenhart, Matt Collins

Senior girls vs Kent College Canterbury: won 6-0

Josephine Hogh, Cathrine Hogh, Ellie Knox, Anna King

Inter girls vs TWGGS: won 4-2

Sophie Dargan, Orissa Welsh, Evie Williams, Barkat Mehra

Junior girls vs Highworth: won 5-1

Charlotte Imbert, Christiane Gontarek, Sofia Melamed, Kate Nicholls
