Student achievements

Students have been busy with a number of competitions. Congratulations to all our students on these brilliant achievements.

Geography

Alicia Ismail and Solomon Anderson (both Year 11) were each awarded a Highly Commended prize in the Trinity Group’s Geography essay competition in response to the question ‘Are we entering a new phase of globalisation post COVID-19?’.

Music

Mika Curson (Y12) was awarded First Prize in the Newnham Music Essay Prize, with her brilliant essay responding to the brief of ‘How would you write a history of music without reference to masterworks, and what issues would be at stake?’.

Science

Ishaan Vohra (Y9) won a prize at the Queen Mary University of London’s School of Physics and Astronomy’s Cosmic Con event on Saturday with his work on the light curve of Wasp-18b, a planet orbiting the star Wasp 18 in the Phoenix constellation in the southern hemisphere. He did this as part of QMUL’s Planet Hunting with Python Project.
