On 20 to 23 March, we hosted our ninth annual STEAM Week, welcoming over 3000 local primary school children to interactive shows and exhibitions for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils.
The young audience learned about the laws of physics with the company Science Made Simple. They investigated the way we travel, explaining the science behind transport. They also experienced a live hot air balloon being inflated before their eyes and had a ride on a real life hovercraft.
Pyrotechnics specialist Matthew Tosh put on a spectacular visual display for Key Stage 2 students in the Science of Fireworks show. He explored how science, maths and technology are used to create different effects which entertain audiences around the world.
During the breaks, the staff and students got a surprise when Titan the robot made an appearance to entertain them – winning over both students and teachers alike with his singing and dance moves.
Thank you to everyone that made our STEAM Week 2018 a huge success.
