Cross country

Our junior girls’ team (Eva Mathew, Amber Croll, Eliza Muysken, Alexia Scotiniadis, Serena Manca and Summer Knight-Thompson) finished third at the national finals of the English Schools’ cross country cup.

Our boys had a great time at Hampton School’s Christmas paarlauf. This is the first time we’ve attended this intriguing event where the aim is to run as far as possible in 24 minutes. Congratulations to our senior boys who finished third, and the inter boys who finished first. Well done to the junior boys who also competed but results have yet to be confirmed.

Participation

Project 1000 aims to provide 1000 pupils Sevenoaks School the opportunity to represent school teams over the course of the year. The target is getting closer as we near the end of term with 798 so far. Project 1000 also recognises students’ on-going commitment to our sports teams. Those that reach 50 appearances across all sports throughout the year will be awarded caps.

This term we have played 500 Fixtures with 89 teams across 16 sports with a 55.4% win ratio across all sports. This puts representation at 77% with 98% in the Lower School, 77% in the Middle School, and 54% in the Upper School.

Staff achievements

Huge congratulations to former teacher and head of sailing Bruce Hebbert who has been presented with a Lifetime Commitment Award by HRH the Princess Royal, President of the RYA in recognition of his commitment to the British Schools Dinghy Racing Association.
