Sporting Highlights

There have been some fantastic sporting achievements over the Christmas break.

Fencing 

Amelie Tsang has been selected to represent Great Britain at the Cadet (U17) European Championships (both individual and team events) in Croatia in February. 

In the inter-regional Cadet (U17) Team Winton Cup, Sophie Rayment (Sabre) and Amelie Tsang (Foil) represented South East. South East won the foil competition and finished second overall. Amelie was also awarded best female foilist.  

Hockey

Paul van Velsen and his U18 Sevenoaks hockey club team qualified for the national indoor finals. 

Knole Park Hockey club won the U14 indoor nationals featuring Bella Munoz, Amber Croll and Summer Knight-Thompson.  

Rugby

Congratulations to the following players on their county selections:

Tom Day – U15, EPDG Saracens/Kent

Oli Ebsworth – U14, PDG Saracens/Kent

Skiing

A really successful trip to the First Snow Ski Racing Championships in Val Thorens at the start of the break. The 46 students were excellent ambassadors for the school, the staff were outstanding, and we had some brilliant top ten performances in the three ski racing events:

Old Sennockians

Max Thorpe (OS 2011) is competing in the Talisker Atlantic Challenge – often regarded as the world’s toughest row. 

Outreach

Over 180 pupils from various primary schools took part in the Kent School Games agility competition at Sevenoaks in the Christmas break.
