Cross country

A great residential trip to the Sussex Downs took place over half term for our cross country runners. This training camp provided great preparation for future races alongside some outstanding countryside views.

We have now qualified an extra two teams for the regional round of the ESAA cross country cup, so five teams in total. Congratulations to the junior and senior boys and the junior, inter and senior girls. Congratulations to Victoria Kern who won the junior girls’ race and Ben Catchpole who won the junior boys’. There were also notable top ten performances from many of our other runners.

Fencing

Amelie Tsang represented Great Britain in the EFC Cadet (U17) foil competition in Tauberbischofsheim in Germany. She finished seventh out of 165 fencers – an incredible achievement!

Incredible fight and resilience from our middle school girls’ tennis team as they beat Surbiton High in the regional round of the national cup in a nail-biting 11-9 shootout. Swimming

There is excellent news for our for the finals later this month at the London Aquatic Centre. Out of ten teams entered, we have seven teams qualifying in the top 20 nationally.

  • Junior girls qualified 17th FC Relay
  • Inter girls qualified 3rd FC and Medley Relay
  • Inter boys qualified 13th FC Relay and 8th Medley Relay
  • Senior boys qualified 12th FC Relay and 9th Medley Relay

This is particularly impressive as the number of finalists has been reduced from 30 to 20 for this year’s event due to social distancing regulations.

Congratulations to Maddie Evans who has gone through to the regional swim squad selection for the south east.
